  • Kindly visit Income Tax India official portal and click on PAN aadhaar link 
  • Now, you need to enter details like Aadhaar number, PAN, Name as per Aadhaar
  • Finally, enter Captcha code on screen or you can request OTP on your phone if you are a blind.
  • Click on Link Aadhaar button and your Aadhaar would be linked to PAN

Linking PAN with Aadhar by logging into your account

  • Register yourself on the Income Tax portal and login to the income tax portal with your details.
  • If you haven’t linked PAN with Aadhar card then a prompt will appear on portal requesting you to link Pan with aadhar. Otherwise, you can click on ‘Profile settings’ and click on ‘Link Aadhar’ option.
  • Details such as name, date of birth and gender will already be mentioned as per the details submitted at the time of registration on the e-Filing portal.
  • Enter your aadhar number and Captcha code and click on “Link Now”
  • You will be updated that your aadhar linking with PAN has been successful.

PAN card Aadhaar card linking with SMS facility

The Income Tax department has made it even easier to link PAN with Aadhaar by having a SMS facility. You just need to follow a two steps process for PAN aadhaar link. These steps are as follows-

  1. Type UID PAN<12 Digit Aadhaar> <10 Digit PAN> on your registered mobile number message box
  2. Send above message to 567678 or 56161

Please remember that you should send above message from a registered number only as you would be asked to verify your aadhaar OTP which would only come to your Aadhaar registered number.

PAN card Aadhaar card linking with offline facility

There is also a facility to link PAN with aadhaar with an offline facility. Central board of direct taxes (CBDT) has provided a form Annexure – 1 for linking PAN with aadhaar. This service is not free and you may be asked to pay a certain amount of fees for linking PAN with Aadhaar with offline method. You also require to furnish original copies of Aadhaar card and PAN.
