IEC code registration on new IEC/DGFT portal

In this article, we would discuss how to login and register on new DGFT portal for application of new IEC (Import Export code) code/license. To apply for a new IEC license an applicant has to login at DGFT portal. DGFT stands for Directorate general of foreign trade. To access the portal, please visit on this link.

IEC license To register on this website, applicant need to have a working internet connection and valid mobile number along with valid email Id.

How to register on DGFT portal for IEC license

You need to follow these steps to register at DGFT portal-

Visit the DGFT website and proceed with registartion process.
Enter the registration details
Select register user as Importer/Exporter.
Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number or mail id
Upon Successful validation of the OTP, you shall receive a notification containing the
temporary password which you need to change upon first login.

If you are a registered user and forgot the password, you can use the Forgot password feature to
request for a temporary new password and then set again your password by following the below
given steps –

Visit the DGFT website and click on Forgot Password hyperlink.
Enter registered email id in the username field and captcha code displayed on the screen.
Click on the submit button.
Click OK to proceed with the forgot password or click cancel to go back to previous screen.
System will validate the email id provide by you and send the one time password on the registered
email id and mobile if email address is registered with DGFT.
