FAQ IEC code

 

IEC code stands for Import and Export code. IEC registartion is a mandatory requirement for import and export of goods. It is a 10 digits code issued by a DGFT for a business. DGFT stands for directorate general of foreign trade. This department comes under Ministry of commerce and industries. It is not possible legally to do import or export goods without IEC code.

Only one IEC is issued against one PAN number. IEC code registration can be applied online by filling online form ANF2. ANF stands for Aayat and Niryat form. IEC code has lifetime validity and it is not required to be renewed by a firm.

Application for a IEC code would be inspected by a inspector and a IEC code would be issued to a business if it satisfies all required conditions along with documents. There are many benefits of IEC registration which includes –
